A window in poetry is possibility …
When we talk about windows, we think of the senses, especially sight.
We understand that windows are only useful if they are transparent and we open them, whether to look inward or outward.
A closed window allows us to observe the world through the glass, but not to connect with it. Whereas an open window lets us perceive it, and often step outside.
But why use a window? It seems logical to think that when we want to go out or come in, we should use doors.
However, going out or coming in through a window breaks established molds and, at times, even the norms. For this reason, the window in poetry is possibility.
The window is a symbol of openness, a way to live unhurriedly, pausing to be a spectator of what it offers. Therefore, do not fear travelling into your inner self, whether as a spectator or a protagonist, and enjoy the journey.
The magic of the window lies in connecting the mundane with the marvelous; and what matters is knowing how to discern when to open it or close it.
